Passion Struggle Power Spirit

For the past fifty years Sadanand Vachali has devoted his life to exploring
different facets of his creativity. He has worked intensively in painting, drawing,
printmaking, sculpture, stained glass, ceramics and vitreous enamel on steel
and copper.

Technical mastery as well as bold use of colour and line have pushed the
boundries of each of these disciplines enabling Sadanand to powerfully convey
his personal and emotional vision of our shared experience, a vision that
deepens our understanding of life and art.

Born in 1940, Sadanand Vachali received a National Scholar Award from the
government of India in 1965 winning a British Commonwealth Scholarship.

He pursued post graduate work in printmaking stained glass and mural
enamelling at the Central School of Art and Design in London.

His unique style brought him critical acclaim from the print and the electronic media.

Since 1970, he has lived and worked in Canada.

His work can be found in numerous public and private collections worldwide:
India, Canada, U.K., USA, Denmark, Wales, France, Australia, Belgium,
Holland, Japan, Singapore, South Africa and many other countries.
